Ocean Village Holidays is a division of Carnival plc. - the largest cruise operator in the world. Modelled on the successful German Aida Cruises model (another Carnival brand) the company specialise in offering cruises 'for people who don't do cruises' targeting people with an aversion to formality and other traditional cruise traditions.

The company currently employ only one vessel the OCEAN VILLAGE although she will be joined by a slightly larger, slightly newer ship in 2007 which is currently trading as AIDABLU for Aida Cruises.

OCEAN VILLAGE was muted at the time of her arrival as the largest ship in her class (i.e. 3 star cruising) and she certainly was - by a big margin and she was the newest ship in her market too. She had previously been employed by P&O Cruises as their ARCADIA ans before that by Princess Cruises as Star Princess.
